This Offset Lithograph is hand signed and dated by the artist 'Richter XI.67' (November 1967) in pencil at the lower right corner. It is also hand numbered in pencil '74' in pencil on the corner of the turned sheet. The lithograph was published by Galerie h (August Haseke), Hanover in 1967 in an edition of 739 impressions, each signed and dated by Richter. It was printed by Freimann & Fuchs, Hanover. It is based on a photograph of the 1965 oil painting Umgeschlagenes Blatt/ Turned Sheet which can be found in the Catalogue Raisonne of Richter's paintings with the number 70-11. Note:
"Richter's reflections of the artistic paradigms of the optical illusions is not constrained to the 20th century, but also goes back to old artistic forms. The offset print 'Sheet Corner' depicts two sheets above each other, the right bottom corner of the upper sheet is turned down to the left. The white bottom of the slightly yellow sheet is curved to the top and throws a distinct shadow on the large signature and dating (...). The graphic fulfils all criteria of a classic Trompe-l'oeil, an optical illusion." (Butin 2004, p. 39).
