Very Good Condition. Pale mount staining. Minor foxing in the margins. Hinged at two points, verso.
Signed in pencil by the artist 'Beckmann' at the lower right margin, on the platemark. Our impression is from the edition of 130 which were each signed in pencil, there were also 370 impressions on laid paper which were unsigned.
It is plate one from the series of six drypoints entitled 'Die Fürstin' (The Duchess). It was printed by Carl Sabo, Berlin and published by Verlag Gustav Kiepenheuer, Weimar in 1918
Die Fürstin was the first of numerous collaborations between the artist and author Kasimir Edschmid and the subject of each drypoint is loosely based on the stories found in the novella.
